Update:
Since my original review I've ordered take-out or gotten delivery here multiple time and with the exception of one delivery that was cold by the time it got to me every meal has been great!
I do have to concede that for pizza Pepe's -or- Sally's are still my favorites but not by much flavor-wise. However if you factor in how annoying it can be to schlepp down to Wooster st Dayton st wins going away.
This is now my go-to place for Italian take-out! *(rating upped to 5 stars) -

We've ordered pizza from Dayton Street quite a lot. Overall it's acceptable but not great. No matter the toppings, the pizza is always way too oily. The crust is on the thin side, as is the apizza style. The sauce and cheese are okay, as are the toppings. We haven't gotten any sides or entrees in a while, so I can't comment on those.

We ordered from Dayton Street Apizza tonight after I messed up dinner. We ordered over the phone for delivery and before you know it they were here with the pizza. My daughter asked the delivery driver if the pizza was any good and he said he thought so ... Boy was he right. We love it. The crust was perfect and the toppings were fresh and cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back.

An average New Haven Style pizza spot. Unlike the other New Haven pizza places in the area, the crust is not charred or blackened. I personally prefer a little bit of char on my pizza, but it's not a deal breaker. I frequent Dayton street for slices, and depending on who is working the pizza can come out a lot different. Still never bad but I prefer it some days over others.

Really good, fast, and pretty cheap. In a city obsessed with pizza, there are the legends (modern, pepe's, sally's), but everyone needs a quality neighborhood pizza place too.
